Working with Organizational Clients to
Help Achieve Organizational Goals

Approach

As an organizational behavior consultant, Laura uses her experience and analytical and communication skills honed in legal practice combined with her intuitive, creative communication skills developed as a certified hypnotherapist. She helps organizational leaders to detach from the cultural issues or conflicts and uncover the purposes behind them so they can objectively create positive solutions- ones that allow them to reach even bigger goals than originally thought possible.

Sessions for organizational clients typically work best one-on-one with the top executives, but can also be effective with a small group of executives as they meet to develop and implement strategies. Laura’s role is to work with organizational leaders at various decision points of organizational strategies to create positive solutions when they are met with resistance during implementation or in the initial creation process.

Initially, she conducts an analysis of the strategy(s) or culture issue and related conflicts by reviewing any big-picture documents and interviewing pertinent individuals in fact-finding process (usually only the pertinent executives, depending on the situation and client needs). She then engages in a dialogue with the leaders about various practical issues dealing with the people involved in the overall process so that win-win solutions can be created. Typically, common ground between the resistance and the overall mission or goals is found when one objectively looks beneath the conflicts. Finally, she issues a report of recommendations and sometimes teaches tools for dealing with the conflicts.

Although the more explicit relaxation technique that she uses in individual sessions is certainly an available option when working one-on-one with executives, if requested, it is not necessarily required for success in this approach.
